Long a seeming tongue-in-cheek critic of Patriots QB Tom Brady, Ravens LB-DE Terrell Suggs did admit to giving the signal-caller a Pro Bowl vote after threatening to withhold it prior to Tuesday's roster announcement.
"We've got quarrels and our beefs but you got to respect play. It was kind of decided as a unit who we vote for. We did vote for him," Suggs told The Baltimore Sun on Wednesday.
As it turns out, both Brady and Suggs made the AFC's roster ... though Suggs doesn't plan to play with his all-star teammate. That's because Pro Bowlers playing in the Super Bowl are exempted from the exhibition game, and Suggs expects to be in North Texas rather than Honolulu at the end of the season.
"One of us is not going to get to play in the game," he said. "I hope he has a good time in the Pro Bowl, and hopefully everything goes according to plan, I'll be watching him from Dallas."
Both the Patriots and Ravens have clinched playoff berths with New England already securing the AFC's home field advantage. Baltimore can still get a first-round bye Sunday, though the Ravens need the Steelers to lose.
